Charismatic and quick to smile, since his own childhood, Alex's nine siblings allowed him to explore his passion for singing, song creation and storytelling.

Alex is a recipient of the prestigious MacEwan University 'Distinguished Alumni Award' for his significant contributions and dedication to young children.

His influences range from children's entertainers Burl Ives, Fred Penner to Raffi.

His fifth family CD,  'Wakin' Up The Sunshine' was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award. Its title is a by-product of his own pre-school aged children’s simple interpretations. While outdoors during inclement weather and still having a good time, when the clouds broke and the sun peeked through, they would exclaim, “Look dad, we’re Wakin' up the sunshine!”

Alex Mahé's bilingual song material has been included in elementary school curriculums and rotates regularly on satellite audio stations.
In addition to being a juror in the children’s category for both WCMA and FACTOR, Alex has also done voice-overs for the Learning Channel on Access T.V.                                                                                     He is presently iworking on his 7th children's CD.
